What to Look For in a New Ear and Nose Trimmer
Choosing a new nose hair groomer can be a daunting task with all of the selections available today. As technology keeps advancing, the options keep growing and growing which makes choosing a trimmer that much harder.
There are a few things you need to think about before actually making a purchase such as the type of groomer, whether or not you need one with a vacuum and safety issues come to mind also. Lets take a look at each one items of these and go from there. Doing a little research will help you make the right buying decision and make it the first time.
I guess the first thing we should look at is whether or not you want an electric one or a manual one. Most people automatically think electric but there are some very nice manual nose hair trimmers as well like the Groom Mate Platinum XL Nose & Ear Hair Trimmer which is my personal favorite. With this one you just gently place the blade in your nostril and gently twist the handle back and forth with your fingers. It’s very gentle and does a very good job.
With the electric hair trimmers there are several different types of blades assemblies. I like the rotating blades myself also I would get one with a vacuum as it keeps the mess to a minimum. Some of these also have a little light too. Just what I always wanted a headlight for my nostrils. Lol…
Please keep in mind the safety factor as well. If you are considering any type of scissor for trimming the nostril hairs, just remember the membrane in the nostrils is very delicate and trust me when I say you don’t want to experience a cut inside your nose. Lets just say it’s no fun at all and something you probably won’t easily forget. Either the electric or manual ones are probably a bit safer to use.
Blade material is something to look at too. There are many choices today including titanium, platinum and stainless steel. Platinum probably stays the sharpest the longest with all of them being fairly rust and corrosion resistant.
Blade: The material utilized to make the blades is another aspect to take into account. Generally speaking, there are three different types of materials that are used to make the blades. These are stainless steel, platinum, and titanium. Platinum retains the sharpness of the blade much longer time than stainless steel or titanium, but blades made of titanium have the advantage of keeping them resistant to water or rust.
This should give you a starting point for choosing you new nose hair groomer.
